This week we kick off a new sermon series in 1 Timothy, join us as we take a look at what it is like to be Shaped By The Gospel. In Paul's first letter to Timothy, he uncovers how the gospel not only changes our beliefs but also shapes our daily lives highlighting the practical, visible transformation that comes from living out the gospel, from how we conduct ourselves to how we lead and serve in the church. As we are “Shaped by the Gospel”, we are challenged to reflect the power of the gospel in every area of our lives, becoming living testimonies of its transforming grace.

GOD's mercy is not given in vain. As we receive HIS mercy, we get to display JESUS and HIS grace to help people believe in HIM for eternal life. That's being Shaped by the Gopsel!

Please discuss and unpack the difference and connection between the grace, mercy and peace from GOD.

Please re-read 1 Timothy 1:3-7

What is Paul saying the aim is of the command to keep people from wrong teaching and focusing on "myths" and "speculations", etc.? 

Please re-read 1 Timothy 1:8-11

The list of sins here is general and specific all rolled into one. What is the purpose of Paul making this list according to this passage? How many of the 10 Commandments are listed here?

Why is "healthy teaching" so important to the gospel and glory of GOD?

Please re-read 1 Timothy 1:12-17

What are the benefits of mercy laid out here in these verses?

Please re-read 1 Timothy 1:18-20

"Waging the good warfare", "holding faith and a good conscience" help keep us from shipwrecking our faith. What else in these final 3 verses help people to not shipwreck their faith? 

Please pray for one another to walk in the life shaping mercy of GOD
