Jesus told His disciples “it is to your advantage that I go away…” because doing so allowed for the coming of the Holy Spirit. We are not to merely exist as passive believers waiting for the return of Jesus. Instead, as Christ-followers we are “Empowered” by the Spirit, enabling us to live a life characterized by boldness, unity, and unwavering faith in order to bring the transformative love and life of Jesus Christ to the world around us.
Waiting is hard to do. When we are Empowered by the HOLY SPIRIT we can wait well, as we obey HIS word, worship JESUS in joy, be thankful, and tell people about HIM. Wait, but don't just stand there.
