Remember WHO Gave It To You

This sermon was preached at Crosswater Community Church in Sultan, WA on 2/11/24 

Jesus told His disciples “it is to your advantage that I go away…” because doing so allowed for the coming of the Holy Spirit. We are not to merely exist as passive believers waiting for the return of Jesus. Instead, as Christ-followers we are “Empowered” by the Spirit, enabling us to live a life characterized by boldness, unity, and unwavering faith in order to bring the transformative love and life of Jesus Christ to the world around us.

Since we are not GOD it can be easy at times to wander from HIS wholly holy example. Yet HE lives inside us and HIS HOLY SPIRIT reminds us to honor HIM with our lives. With loving discipline, HE calls us back to holiness and away from our flesh, the world and the devil. Through the HOLY SPIRIT we are Empowered to live holy lives.
